Due to the use of different DMA models and varying performance of the second computer, the "DMA read and write rate" may vary depending on which USB port the DMA data cable is plugged into. For example, using the Enigma X1 and plugging the USB 3.1 GEN2 data cable into a USB 3.1 port on the second computer may yield rates over 5000+.
If your rate is below 3000, please check if the data cable is plugged into a USB 3.0 port on the second computer. Generally, for software that purely utilizes DMA, a rate above 3000 is required to avoid lag. However, for data packet software like Silver Shield Tarkov Radar or AG Radar, the DMA read and write rate has little effect on performance. The principles of specific software will be distinguished in other articles.
Second Computer: The performance of the second computer significantly impacts DMA speed, primarily due to its CPU and motherboard. A desktop computer with integrated graphics (4th generation i5 or higher) is generally recommended. A laptop can also be used but may perform slower.
USB Port on the Second Computer: The type of USB port affects DMA speed, especially between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. The maximum speed of USB 2.0 is less than 3000, so it is essential to use a USB 3.0 port or higher.
Data Cable: The provided data cable should suffice, but if you encounter issues, run the test file a second time. If it fails, the data cable may need replacing.
DMA Itself: The DMA's performance is only noticeable when all other conditions are optimal. The highest recorded score for our DMA is over 10,000 points using an i7-12700K CPU as the second computer.
Main Computer Motherboard: Some users report that the main PC's motherboard can affect DMA speed. Avoid purchasing certain brands, such as Gigabyte, Lenovo, or HP, directly without further consideration.
Maximize DMA Speed
Prioritize USB 3.0 Port > USB Type-C: Always choose a USB 3.0 port. If unavailable, consider a Type-C to USB 3.0 (blue port) adapter.
Use USB 3.0 Cable: Ensure you're using a high-quality USB 3.0 cable.
